“Doublebass player, composer and improviser Ferdinando Romano started playing and showing his passion for sounds at an early age, choosing later the doublebass as his elected instrument. In his music his love for jazz, classical and contemporary music, electronic music and improvisation melt naturally, creating a very eloquent and original sound which, through vibrant rhythm or iridescent calm, speaks to humanity.

His music beautifully captures the melodicism and relaxation so characteristic of the Italian scene but also ventures out at some point with open spaces for collective improvisation and sophisticated ensemble writing, benefitting from that musical sweet spot between challenging and accessible listening.”
